Estamariu is home to Cal Teixidó. A small village of 100 inhabitants, completely restored preserving the typical local architecture, stone facades, windows, picture windows and balconies of antique wood, slate roofs, a dream landscape, like taken right out of a postcard!
Each valley is different, and each village is a discovery. The splendid greens of Ribera del Segre or Valira. the surrounding rivers, contrast with the white of the highest peaks, breathtaking views al around, overlooking the endless horizon.
Sunsets and dawns filled with captivating colors, enveloped by natural forests. With delightful summer rains, comes the most precious harvest, mushrooms, an ancestral mountain region tradition.
Amidst fascinating natural parks, the Cadí and Alt Pirineu, enjoy long walks contemplating untouched nature and a wide range of entertainment and culture. Take a journey to the past, looking dolmens and megalithic monuments. Discover the footprints of prehistoric dinosaurs, legends and ancient traditions such as "manairons“.
Finally, we recommend not to leave town without visiting our fantastic Romanesque church of San Vincente D'Estamariu, a temple of basilica plan adorned with Romanesque paintings from the twelfth century. The only ones preserved "in situ" in the Alt Urgell region.
